How to use the QR Code Generator
QR codes let people open a link, join a Wi-Fi network or save a contact just by pointing their phone camera. Many online generators make codes that redirect through their own servers and stop working when a trial ends. Codes made here contain your data directly, so they work forever and cannot be tracked.
Choose the type of content. A website link opens in the browser; plain text is shown on screen; a Wi-Fi code lets guests join your network without typing the password; email, phone and SMS codes open a pre-filled message or call; and a vCard saves your name, phone, email, company and website to the contacts app. The code updates as you type.
Error correction adds redundancy so a code still scans when partly damaged or covered. Higher levels make the code denser; Medium suits most uses, while High allows a small logo on top. Pick dark colours on a light background with strong contrast, as some scanners cannot read inverted or low-contrast codes.
Download a PNG for screens and documents or an SVG for print, since vector graphics stay sharp at any size. Test the code with a couple of phones before printing many copies. Generation happens entirely in your browser using an open-source library.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The content is stored in the code itself, with no redirect service, so it works as long as the link or data is valid.
Which format is best for printing?
SVG, because it scales to any size without blurring. Keep at least a few millimetres of white margin around it.
Can I track scans?
No. Codes are static and private. Tracking needs a redirect service, which this tool deliberately avoids.
