How to use the Random Number Generator

Random numbers settle disputes, pick winners, drive games and power simulations. This generator uses your browser’s cryptographically secure random source, which is far less predictable than the basic random functions in many simple tools.

Enter a minimum and maximum, choose how many numbers you want and press Generate. Both ends of the range are included, so 1 to 6 can return 1 and 6. Pick whole numbers for dice rolls and raffles, or choose up to four decimal places for measurements and sampling. The big display shows a single result clearly, and several results are listed as a comma-separated line you can copy.

Tick no repeats to draw unique numbers, like pulling tickets from a hat. The tool will warn you if you ask for more unique numbers than the range contains. The sort option arranges results from lowest to highest, helpful for lottery-style picks. The preset buttons fill in common setups such as a six-sided die or a 6-from-49 lottery ticket.

Fair random choices have no memory: getting the same number twice in a row is perfectly normal and does not mean the generator is broken. This tool is great for games and decisions, but for official lotteries or legal draws, follow the rules of your organisation, which may require certified equipment.
