Paraphrasing Tool

Reword text in different tones, with every change highlighted.

How to use: Paste a sentence or paragraph, choose a mode and how many words to change. Press “Try another version” for alternatives, then copy the result.

Rule-based rewriter with a built-in thesaurus and phrase list (no AI service, nothing uploaded). It is great for ideas and tone changes; always read the result, as word swaps can shift meaning.

How to use the Paraphrasing Tool

Paraphrasing helps when a sentence sounds clumsy, when you need a more formal or more relaxed tone, or when you want to avoid repeating the same words. This tool gives you instant alternatives without an account and without sending your writing to a server.

It works with rules rather than a large language model. First, wordy phrases are replaced with tighter ones, such as “in order to” with “to” and “due to the fact that” with “because”. Then individual words are swapped with synonyms from a built-in thesaurus of common English words. The mode controls the style: Simpler words prefers short, familiar words; More formal expands contractions and uses more formal verbs; More casual uses contractions and everyday phrasing; Shorter removes filler words like “really” and “basically”.

The slider sets how many eligible words get replaced, and “Try another version” picks different synonyms. Every changed word is highlighted so you can review it quickly.

Automatic rewording cannot understand context, so a synonym may not fit every sentence. Treat the output as a draft and edit it. Use paraphrasing to improve your own writing, and always credit sources: rewording someone else’s work does not make it yours.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an AI paraphraser?

No. It is a transparent rule-based rewriter, which keeps it free, fast and private. It does not understand meaning, so review the output.

Can it help avoid plagiarism?

Rewording is not a substitute for citing sources. Use it to improve your own writing and always credit the original author.

Is my text saved?

No. It is processed in your browser and never stored or sent.
