How to use the JSON to CSV Converter

APIs, databases and web apps speak JSON, while spreadsheets, accounting software and many import tools prefer CSV. This converter moves data between the two formats without uploading it anywhere.

For JSON to CSV, paste an array of objects. Every key found in any object becomes a column, in the order first seen, so records with missing fields still line up. Nested objects are flattened into dot-separated column names such as address.city, and arrays are written as JSON text in a single cell. Values containing commas, quotes or line breaks are quoted correctly, so the file opens cleanly in Excel, Google Sheets and LibreOffice. A single object, or an object wrapping one array, is also accepted.

For CSV to JSON, paste CSV with a header row. The delimiter is detected automatically, quoted fields and embedded line breaks are handled, numbers, true, false and null become real JSON values, and dot-separated headers are rebuilt into nested objects. Untick the options to keep everything as text or to output arrays without a header.

Choose semicolons for European versions of Excel, which use commas as decimal separators. Copy the result or download it as a file. Your data never leaves the browser.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Excel put everything in one column?

Your Excel may expect semicolons. Choose the semicolon delimiter and convert again, or use Data → From Text in Excel.

How are nested objects handled?

They are flattened into columns like address.city, and rebuilt into nested objects when converting back.

Is there a size limit?

Only your device memory. Files of several megabytes convert in a second or two.
