How to use the Case Converter
Retyping text because it was typed in the wrong case is a waste of time. Paste your text, press the button for the style you want, and copy the result.
The basic options are UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case and Sentence case. Title case capitalizes the main words but leaves short words such as “of”, “the” and “and” in lowercase, except at the start, which suits headings and article titles. Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter of each sentence.
Developers get the naming styles used in code: camelCase and PascalCase join words without spaces, snake_case and CONSTANT_CASE use underscores, and kebab-case uses hyphens, as often seen in URLs and CSS class names. The converter splits your text at spaces, punctuation and existing camel-case boundaries, so it can turn “userProfileName” into “user_profile_name” and back.
There are playful options too, such as alternating and inverse case. Remember that title-case rules vary between style guides, so proofread names and acronyms after converting. Your text is processed locally in your browser, so it is safe to use with private content.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between title case and sentence case?
Title case capitalizes most words in a heading. Sentence case capitalizes only the first word and proper nouns, like a normal sentence.
Can it convert camelCase to snake_case?
Yes. The tool recognises existing word boundaries in camelCase and converts them to the style you choose.
Does it work with accented letters?
Yes. It supports Unicode letters, including accents and non-Latin alphabets that have upper and lower case.
